Job Announcement #ACIC-17-14Job Title: Detention Officer
Summary: Under general supervision, performs a variety of activities associated with booking, release, and detention of prisoners in a detention facility. Detention Officers may be assigned to a day, swing, or graveyard shift on a regular rotational basis that includes working nights, weekends and holidays. This is a full-time position, part-time applicants will not be considered. This is a non-exempt position.
Minimum Qualifications: Experience equivalent to one year full time detention, correctional, or closely related criminal justice work; OR possession of P.O.S.T. or equivalent certification as a detention/correctional officer may substitute for the required experience. May be required to attend a P.O.S.T. or Basic Corrections Officer Training Program. Must possess a valid Arizona drivers license and be able to meet the Community's insurance carrier requirements (see list on website or attached to application.) Must be able to pass an extensive background check, which includes polygraph test, psychological evaluation and physical exam.
The ideal candidate will have P.O.S.T. certification as a detention/correction officer and experience in a detention/correctional facility. This is a full-time position, part-time applicants will not be considered.
